Why we gather

A well-fed mother is the foundation

Most of what gets handed to a new mother is for the baby. The onesies, the swaddles, the little wooden toys. Beautiful things, but none of them feed her at 3 a.m.

Whether you're stocking your own freezer before baby arrives, training to bring food into the work you already do, gathering your people around someone you love, or setting a table for the providers who hold everyone else, everything here comes back to the same idea.

Freezer Stash Workshop

Leave with your first two weeks of postpartum meals already made.

The advice everyone gives is “stock your freezer.” Nobody tells you what to put in it.

In this hands-on workshop, you'll cook alongside me in a professional kitchen and go home with real food: the warm, easy-to-digest meals traditional postpartum care has relied on for centuries. Congee that reheats in minutes. Broths you can sip one-handed. Soups built for a body that's healing.

You'll learn the why behind each dish, so you can keep cooking this way long after the workshop ends.

Best booked between 28 and 36 weeks, though earlier is always welcome.

The Nourishment Training

A 4-week professional program in traditional postpartum food, so you can feed the families you already serve.

You're already in the home. You already know she isn't eating. And you've probably stood in someone's kitchen wondering what you could safely and confidently make for her.

Over four sessions, you'll learn the traditional framework behind postpartum nourishment: Traditional Chinese Medicine principles, the First Forty Days approach and the ancestral food practices found in nearly every culture that takes the fourth trimester seriously. Then you'll cook broths, congees, soups and dishes that hold up across dietary needs and feeding situations.

The Nourishment Party

A baby shower is for the baby. This one is for the mother.

A Nourishment Party is a gathering built entirely around the mother: warm food made for the body she's carrying and the recovery ahead, a table set with intention, and room for the women who love her to actually say something to her.

Instead of a pile of things she'll outgrow in eight weeks, she leaves with something that holds her through the hardest part: food arriving at her door when the house has gone quiet.

Provider Dinners & Tastings

Birth workers spend their lives nourishing other families and rarely get nourished themselves.

Birthing centers hosting open houses, newborn care agencies feeding their teams, practices bringing referral partners together: we handle the food completely, made to the same standards we cook to for our postpartum clients.

Also available as a tasting, so your team can experience exactly what your families would receive, with time built in for questions.

Questions

Good to know

Do I need to know how to cook?

No. Most people who come to a Freezer Stash Workshop are not confident cooks, which is usually why they come. Everything is taught from the beginning.

I have dietary restrictions. Can you work with me?

Yes. Everything we make is already gluten-free, refined sugar-free and made without seed oils. Tell us about dairy, shellfish, nightshades or anything else when you book and we'll adjust. We don't currently offer kosher preparation.

Can I come if I've already had my baby?

Absolutely. Postpartum doesn't end at six weeks, and neither does the need for real food.

Can partners come?

Please bring them. A partner who knows how to make congee at 2 a.m. is worth more than most baby gear.

Do you travel outside Austin?

Private workshops and Nourishment Parties are available across Greater Austin. Further out, reach out and we'll talk.

Not sure which one is yours?

Tell me a little about what you're planning and I'll point you in the right direction.
